Unique Community Master Plans
The NorthPark PUD will be a unique master planned community that incorporates and expands on the design standards of the North Black Canyon Corridor Overlay. Specific attention has been given to the connectivity and streetscapes of within NorthPark, including a robust trail network of varying trail types. A "Master Open Space, Pedestrian, Bicycle & Trails Plan" is included as a component of the PUD application that provides for standards above and beyond the standards City of Phoenix requirements. Additionally, a "Landscape Master Plan" has been incorporated into the PUD application, and landscape zones have been developed to provide for a consistent and complementary planting pallete that is sensitive to the existing desert environment of the area.
Open Space, Pedestrian, Bicycle and Trails Plan
All modifications to the street sections proposed in this PUD have pedestrian and bicyclist safety in mind. By buffering the bike lanes, detaching sidewalks, and proving alternative off-street routes, all heavily shaded, the NorthPark PUD has every intent of providing safe routes both on and off street for all users.
Paved Shared-Use and unpaved Multi-Use paths create large recreational loops by circulating throughout the overall property.
Neighborhood Trails establish linkages between residential neighborhoods, opens spaces, and Shared-Use and Multi-Use paths.
Mountain Trails are built and maintained by the City of Phoenix, and are intended for outdoor recreation in park areas.
